I am a qualified mindfulness practitioner and facilitator having trained with the Mindfulness Association and completed a 3 year MSc Studies in Mindfulness with the University of Aberdeen.

I offer a friendly and welcoming space where you can experience mindfulness through guided meditation, Qi Gong–based gentle movement, and relaxation practices. My sessions are designed to help you unplug from the busyness of everyday life, recharge your energy, and reset both mind and body.   Mindfulness is open to everyone. No matter who you are or where you begin; it is a practice that anyone can learn, offering a way to find greater calm, clarity and balance in everyday life.

The practices I share have their roots in traditional Buddhist meditation but are presented in a completely secular way and are firmly grounded in psychological theory and evidence-based neuroscience.

As a Teacher Member of the Mindfulness Association I am trained and qualified to teach the following courses:

Mindful Based Living Course (MBLC)
Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC)
Mindful Based Living Course for Young Adults (MBLC-YA)
Finding Peace in a Frantic World

I have also undertaken further professional development in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with David Treleaven.

I abide by the ongoing Good Practice Guidelines laid down by BAMBA (British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches). This requires that I maintain my own regular mindfulness practice, participate in at least one annual mindfulness retreat and commit to ongoing Continued Professional Development through further training.  I hold appropriate insurance to teach mindfulness, have regular supervision and participate in networking and practising with other mindfulness teachers.

My Journey..and

Why Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a mental training technique that teaches us to be aware of our thoughts, feelings, moods and body sensations as they are in the present moment so that we can see things as they really are, and not as we would like them to be. When we pay attention to how we are thinking and feeling in the moment, we become better at noticing the build-up of stress, as well as recognising unpleasant emotions and thoughts; learning to deal with them more effectively, instead of reacting in negative ways.

“The brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones” (Rick Hanson).
